Free PTE Practice Online —
Every Task, Genuinely Unlimited

Try 3 real PTE-style questions right now with no sign-up, then unlock unlimited practice on all 22 task types — free. Start on the free try page.

What free PTE practice actually gets you here

No trials that expire, no one-mock-then-paywall. Here is exactly what is free.

Short answer. You can practise every one of the 22 PTE Academic task types free, forever. Start with 3 questions instantly — no sign-up needed. Create a free account and practice becomes unlimited, including full-length timed mock tests scored with an instant estimate. You only ever pay if you want real AI scoring and detailed feedback.

Most PTE practice sites give you one free AI-scored mock, then lock everything behind a subscription. We flipped the model: the practice itself is free and unlimited, and payment is only for depth — AI scoring that analyses your actual speaking and writing. That means you can drill Repeat Sentence fifty times on a Tuesday night without watching a credit counter.

One honesty note up front: on free mode, Speaking and Writing get a deliberately rough on-device estimate — a practice guide, not your real PTE score. We never dress the estimate up as AI scoring, because it isn't.

Why "unlimited" is genuinely unlimited

The economics of PTE practice explain most paywalls — and why ours works differently.

Reading and Listening tasks have objectively correct answers. Marking them costs almost nothing, so there is no honest reason to cap them — yet most platforms do, because the paywall is the product. Our objective tasks are auto-scored exactly and never capped: every multiple-choice question, every re-order paragraph, every fill-in-the-blank, every Write From Dictation attempt (there's a free auto-scored WFD tool here) is marked instantly, free, forever.

Speaking and Writing are different: judging fluency, pronunciation, content and coherence properly takes real AI computation, which costs real money per response. So on the free tier those tasks get a rough estimate, and the paid mock credits (one-time packs from A$19 for 3 AI-scored mocks — not a subscription) buy the real analysis. You practise unlimited either way; you pay only when you want to know precisely where your speaking and writing stand.

Start here, based on your weakest section

Unlimited practice is only useful if you point it at the right tasks. Pick your lane.

Speaking is dragging you down

Speaking is scored on content, oral fluency and pronunciation — and pronunciation means intelligibility, not accent (no, PTE does not penalise your accent). The usual killers are long pauses, restarts and self-corrections. Read the speaking low-score fix guide, then drill Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence and Describe Image daily.

Writing form errors are costing marks

Summarize Written Text must be one sentence of 5–75 words; the essay must be 200–300 words; Summarize Spoken Text is 50–70 words. Break the form rules and you score zero on form regardless of quality. Practise to the counts until they are automatic — the word limits and timings guide has the full table.

Listening leaks points at the end

Write From Dictation is worth one point per correct word, spelling included, and it feeds both your Listening and Writing scores. It is the highest-leverage task in the test and the free WFD tool scores you automatically on every attempt.

Reading feels slow

Reading is exactly marked here, so use the instant feedback loop: attempt, see precisely what you missed, retry. Watch the two tasks with negative marking — multi-answer multiple choice and Highlight Incorrect Words — where guessing blindly costs points (how PTE negative marking works).

Not sure where you are weakest? Sit one free full mock on the mock tests page and let the section breakdown tell you.

Free practice vs AI-scored mocks: an honest comparison

Same questions, same timings — the difference is entirely in how Speaking and Writing are judged.

The free estimate is honest about what it is: a practice guide that tracks your trend, not a prediction of your real score. When you are two to three weeks out from test day and need to know exactly where your speaking and writing stand, that is when an AI-scored mock earns its money.

Practise smarter: hit the two-skill tasks first

Eight of the 22 tasks feed two skill scores at once. Free practice time goes furthest there.

Since the scoring changes of August 2025, knowing which task feeds which skill matters more than raw volume. Repeat Sentence and Re-tell Lecture feed Listening and Speaking; Write From Dictation feeds Listening and Writing; Summarize Written Text feeds Reading and Writing. Prioritising these means every practice session lifts two sections at once — the full task-to-skill map is in the August 2025 scoring changes guide.

Two more smart-practice rules for 2025–26:

  1. Drop the memorised templates. Pearson's scoring now detects and penalises word-for-word memorised templates and stock phrasing. Flexible structures — an order of ideas you adapt to the question — are still fine. Unlimited free practice is exactly how you build that adaptability instead of leaning on a script.
  2. Practise under the clock from day one. Untimed practice builds habits the exam will break. Every drill here runs on real PTE timings, so the pressure is baked in from your first session.

Want structure around all of this? The free study plan generator turns your test date and weak sections into a week-by-week schedule.

Common questions

Is PTE practice here really free and unlimited?
Yes. With a free account you get unlimited practice on all 22 PTE Academic task types and unlimited full-length timed mock tests. Reading and Listening are marked exactly and instantly; Speaking and Writing get a rough on-device estimate. There is no cap, trial period or credit card requirement on free practice.
Can I practise PTE without signing up at all?
Yes. The try page gives you 3 real PTE-style questions instantly with no sign-up and no email. If you want more than that, a free account unlocks unlimited practice and mock tests.
Is the free mock test score accurate?
Reading and Listening are marked exactly, so those sections are reliable. Speaking and Writing on the free tier get a deliberately rough on-device estimate — it is a practice guide for tracking your trend, not a prediction of your real PTE score. Real AI scoring of Speaking and Writing is what the paid mock credits unlock.
What do the paid AI mock credits cost?
They are one-time packs, not a subscription: A$19 for 3 AI-scored mocks, A$30 for 7, or A$45 for 15 (India: Rs 999, Rs 1,599 and Rs 2,399). Each credit gives you a mock with real AI scoring of Speaking and Writing plus detailed feedback, available in English and eight other languages including Hindi, Punjabi and Nepali.
Does free practice cover the new August 2025 tasks?
Yes. All 22 task types are included, covering the two tasks Pearson added in August 2025 — Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation — with the same real per-task timings as the exam.
Which tasks should I practise first?
Start with the tasks that feed two skill scores at once — 8 of the 22 do. Write From Dictation (Listening + Writing), Repeat Sentence and Re-tell Lecture (Listening + Speaking) and Summarize Written Text (Reading + Writing) give the biggest return per hour of practice.
