PTE study plan
generator

Tell it how long you have, how many hours a day, your target and your weakest skill — and get a week-by-week plan you can print, built around the tasks that move the most marks.

A study framework, not a promise. This builds a sensible schedule from proven PTE study principles — how fast you improve depends on your starting level and practice quality. Adjust it to suit you.

Why the plan is built this way

Three phases, weighted toward the tasks that move the most marks.

Good PTE preparation moves through Foundation (learn every task type and how it's scored), Build (daily targeted drilling of your weak skill and the high-value tasks), and Polish (full timed mocks so nothing on test day is a surprise). The plan front-loads learning and back-loads full mocks.

It deliberately over-weights the eight two-skill tasks — Repeat Sentence, Re-tell Lecture, Summarize Group Discussion, Summarize Written Text, Summarize Spoken Text, Highlight Correct Summary, Highlight Incorrect Words and Write From Dictation — because each one you practise moves two section scores at once. See which task feeds which skill for why that matters.

Common questions

How long do I need to study for PTE?
It depends on the gap between your current and target level. Many candidates aiming for a modest lift prepare in three to six weeks of focused daily practice, while a big jump can take longer. The generator turns whatever time you have into a realistic phased plan.
How many hours a day should I practise?
Consistent daily practice beats occasional long sessions. One to three focused hours a day, with same-day review of your mistakes, is a sustainable range for most people. Quality and review matter more than raw hours.
What should I practise first?
Start by learning how each task is scored, then concentrate on your weakest skill and on the eight tasks that feed two skills at once. The plan sequences this for you, moving from foundation to targeted drilling to full timed mocks.
Is this plan official?
No — it is an independent study framework based on how PTE is structured and scored, not an official Pearson product. Use it as a starting schedule and adjust it to your own progress.
